League StructuresAll player scores must be calculated based off of some formula. The Point Structure area is where you define how your league points are calculated. After choosing a scoring structure you may complete how you would like points to be distributed to players based on rank (position going out). Rank #1 means the player was the LAST player remaining. The league scoring structure may be modified at any time. It is very important that you understand, after every event closes, you must go to the event and rank the players in the order they "went out". Rank #1 means the player was the LAST player remaining. To do this, click on the event, then click "Event Rank". From here you may drag and drop the players in correct order. Players are NOT given points for an event until the players are ranked. There are currently three different flexible point structures:
Absolute PointsPoints are distributed to players based on rank and are a straight value based on their rank in this event. Bonus Points Participating Points - Every player that attended the event gets participating points, regardless of rank. Player Count Points - Bonus points are given based on the number of players in the event and multiplied by a number. i.e. If 8 players participate and the multiplication factor is 2, each player gets 16 bonus points (8 x 2). These points are only given up to (and including) the player rank specified. Set to 0 (zero) for no bonus. Point Distribution Best X Events - Only count: each player's best X events. If set, will only use the players top x scores to calculate overall league points and rank. Points - Points awarded to each player based on rank. Bonus Points - Based on rank, players may receive bonus points. The player that is ranked #1 (last player remaining) receives 33 points: 25 Points for Rank + 3 Bonus Points + 5 Participating Points. Points would be distributed as follows: Rank (points + participating points + bonus points) 1 = 33 Points (25 + 5 + 3) 2 = 27 Points (20 + 5 + 2) 3 = 21 Points (15 + 5 + 1) 4 = 15 Points (10 + 5 + 0) 5 = 10 Points (5 + 5 + 0) 6-x = 5 Points (0 + 5 + 0) Relative Reverse OrderPoints are distributed to players based on the number of participating players in each event. Players receive their reverse rank (times multiplier if applicable) in points. Multiplication Factor - Points based on reverse order are multiplied by this number (use 1 (one) if unsure). Bonus Points - Based on rank, players may receive bonus points. The player that is ranked #1 (last player remaining) receives 12.5 points:7.5 Points for Rank (5 x 1.5 multiplier) 3 Bonus Points 2 Participating Points. Based on 5 players participating in an event, points would be distributed as follows: Rank ( (reverse rank * multiplier) + participating points + bonus points ) 1 = 12.5 Points ( (5 * 1.5) + 2 + 3 ) 2 = 10 Points ( (4 * 1.5) + 2 + 2 ) 3 = 7.5 Points ( (3 * 1.5) + 2 + 1 ) 4 = 5 Points ( (2 * 1.5) + 2 + 0 ) 5 = 3.5 Points ( (1 * 1.5) + 2 + 0 ) Neau's FormulaLeague uses Neau's Formula - Visit Dr. Neau's Tournament Manager.
The calculation is as follows: points = (sqrt(((a * b) * (b / c))) / (d + 1.0)) Neau's formula requires that you go to each closed event and specify the player buy-in expense and total expense. After an event is closed, go to the event and click "Event Rank". When using Neau's Formula, you may specify the event buy-in amount as well as each individual player's expense. You also order the players. Rank #1 (finish order) means the player was the LAST player remaining.
